I'll start off with the star of this dinner.. filet mignon coated in truffles..
Now rewind to the setting. The Fontainebleau Miami. This pool was like a dance club from dawn to dusk, when everyone goes inside LIV. Justin & I were so not baller enough for this hotel as a whole, but we definitely enjoyed the people watching. And the FOOD.
In the lobby and ready for a steak dinner..
We started with Gotham's one of a kind bread. Steaming hot, sweet, salty, and pulls right apart..
Then amused our bouches with some veggies (this chopped vegetable salad had a great mix of radish, sweet corn, beans, and celery for some crunch.
Our sides.. grilled asparagus with lemon and garlic broccolini.
My skirt steak was all wrapped up like a rosebud. Hard to tell from the side, but it was pretty cool. I'd never seen it served that way before and was quite impressed. And what was even more impressive was the sauce that came with it. It's Gotham Steak's own "Gotham Steak Sauce". Let's just say A1 can't even compare. I wish I could get the recipe for this spicy goodness.
Justin has a hard time resisting truffles and was pretty much instantly sold on the "truffle crust" option for his filet. He was tempted by the japapeno chimichurri for his sauce, but decided bearnaise goes better with truffles.
Clean plates, clean table.
We were so stuffed we decided to go on a walk before digging into desserts. But that didn't stop us from getting after dinner drinks here. Who wouldn't want coffee here after reading these descriptions?
Come to Gotham if you're in Miami (or NYC) and love steak!
And yes, that's us in the restaurant sign. My lame attempt at taking an arsty photo :)
